Oatmeal with Chia Seeds

  • 155 g coarse oatmeal, steel cut oatmeal(5.5 oz)
  • 70 g chia seeds, (2.5 oz)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1420 g soy milk (or coconut milk), (50 oz)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract, natural

    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

    Mix solids
  1. Add steel cut oatmeal, chia seeds, and ground cinnamon to mixing bowl.
    Put measuring cup in mixing bowl cover
  2. Mix 30 seconds/speed 2 reverse
  3. Heat
  4. Remove mixing bowl cover
    Add soy milk and vanilla extract to mixing bowl
    Put measuring cup in mixing bowl cover
  5. Heat 20 minutes\90ºC\speed 2 reverse (191ºF)
  6. Serve
  7. Serve warm and top with almond butter, sliced banana, avocado slices, berries, and cocoa nibs.

    For later consumption, store in refrigerator.
    Then for each new serving, add some soy milk (or coconut milk) to improve liquidity before reheating.
