Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place milk, yoghurt and powdered milk into mixing bowl and warm 6min/50°/speed3.

Transfer yoghurts mixture into airtight jars, seal with lids and place into Varoma dish.

    Rinse mixing bowl.

Place water and lemon juice into mixing bowl (this stops the bowl getting rusty).

Place Varoma dish with jars into position, secure Veroma lid and start Fermentation/70°/10hours.

Remove Varoma, then place jars of yoghurt into fridge for minimum of two hours to chill completely before serving.

You can store the yoghurt in the sealable jars for up to 1 week in the fridge.

I was looking for a recipe to make yoghurt for my family on Cookidoo, it needed it to be sugar free and with ingredients I can always include in my weekly shop. I found a few that interested me, but decided to chop and change between them to create my perfect yoghurt - simple ingredients, no sugar, quick preparation and a decent fridge life!

I'm going to be adding fruit compote, honey or granola when it's eaten for sweetness.
